Pray Without Ceasing

Happy Thanksgiving! I thought today would be an appropriate day for a post since my tagline is: Be thankful. Give thanks. Live thankfully. This is my absolute favorite holiday of the year and always serves as an excellent reminder that I have immeasurable blessing in my life. Today is a day that is to be marked by giving thanks to God, and one way in which we are to do that is through prayer.

On my about page you will find Scripture that is near and dear to my heart:

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV

I think many of us could give sound advice on how one might be able to “rejoice always” or to “give thanks in all circumstances,” but to “pray without ceasing,” may seem a little outside one’s capability. Continue reading

100 Followers Milestone!

I just wanted to make a quick post to share that a few days ago, I hit the 100 followers milestone!  I’m currently at 103, but 100 is a nice, round number.  I know a few of my followers have many more so this may seem a little silly (it kind of feels silly), but it is still exciting to think that there are 100 people out there who regularly want to hear what I have to say.  Ha!

Thanks to all of you!

Living Thankfulness: An Abrupt Conclusion

I haven’t read their book, but do follow them on Twitter and they have great things to say 🙂

Back on November 30, 2013, I invited everyone to participate in a Living Thankfulness Link-Up.  I had just come off a great experience with 30 Days of Thanks on Facebook, and I wanted to keep the spirit of thankfulness rolling through the rest of the year.  I also wanted some action to come out of all of this thankfulness.  It is one thing to say you are thankful and another to truly BE thankful.  So my thankfulness challenge was born.  Wouldn’t you know it, I have done TERRIBLY with this. We have been snowed in since Friday.  It is day 4 of being stuck and day 2 of no water. Continue reading

Living Thankfulness Link-Up

Borrowed from philanthropyfashion.com

Today is the last day of the 30 Days of Thanks.  I’ve never participated in this and I don’t know anything about its origin, but my experience of it was to post something I was thankful for every day in November.  I got involved because I just happened to see a post by a friend on November 1st and I thought that it sounded like a fun challenge.  I had no idea what a journey it would be.
