Hi there! Do you remember me? Don’t worry, I won’t blame you if you don’t. I just discovered that my last post was almost a year ago, but life has been busy and I’m certain you’ve had plenty of good writers to keep you satisfied. You know what else? WordPress notified me that about a week ago was the 6 year anniversary of my blog. What was life even like 6 years ago?!? Satanism: The only religion that accepts everyone

Now that I have your attention and have alienated more than half of my readership…

I was watching Tosh.0 the other day (yes, I am aware this is not wholesome television, to say the very least, but I am going somewhere with this), and the host, Daniel Tosh, did a bit with this “metal club” (as in music, not building material) from a high school.  He asked the students if they were Satanists (the predominant view being that all metalheads are Satan worshippers).  One member said they were and he asked why, to which she replied, “because it’s the only religion that accepts everybody.” Daniel then threw out that Christianity does that and she fired back, “except gay people.” Continue reading

A Mother’s Reflection on Two Months of Absurdity

I’m back!  I’ve been MIA now for approximately two months, but I now have a quiet moment to sit down and do a little bit ‘o writing.  I have been thinking a lot lately about the way I would go about writing this post because A LOT has gone on in this family.  I thought about doing an “update,” but that actually made me feel a great bit of anxiety because I don’t really want to re-hash all the details for the millionth time.  So then I was stumped, but after talking with my father-in-law at Sunday dinner last night, I decided I wanted to do more of a “reflection” on the past two months.
