Bear with me!

I am trying to find a theme that better reflects my “feel”.  I want you all to feel like you have come to my little house in the woods to sit a spell.

Things are going to be a bit out of whack as I try new things on so please be patient while I sort this out.

In the meantime, pull up a seat next to my fireplace, wrap your hands around a warm drink, and listen to one of my stories.

Introducing….

carmencutlassMy littlest brother! His name is Cormac and he has started a blog, A Sovereign Style. He is a stylist over at American Eagle Outfitters and wants to make it in the fashion world.  He does some amazing make-up work and is really rockin’ his drag persona, Carmen Cutlass.

I wanted to introduce him around to help him build some followers.  I know some of you out there are fashion and art-minded.  Even if you don’t plan to follow his exploits, head over and welcome him aboard!

100 Followers Milestone!

20140130_175735000_iOS

I just wanted to make a quick post to share that a few days ago, I hit the 100 followers milestone!  I’m currently at 103, but 100 is a nice, round number.  I know a few of my followers have many more so this may seem a little silly (it kind of feels silly), but it is still exciting to think that there are 100 people out there who regularly want to hear what I have to say.  Ha!

Thanks to all of you!

The Liebster Award

I am WAY behind.  I was nominated for this award back on August 6, 2013 by Marie over at My Mom Thoughts.  This was back when it was award season around this corner of WordPress and people were passing awards around like crazy.  I was getting ready to expel a baby from my body and was feeling too overwhelmed to actually get posts like these done.  Now, I have no more excuses because things are relatively quiet around here.  So now its time for me to start accepting and passing on awards.  Woo hoo!!! Living Thankfulness: An Abrupt Conclusion

I haven’t read their book, but do follow them on Twitter and they have great things to say 🙂

Back on November 30, 2013, I invited everyone to participate in a Living Thankfulness Link-Up.  I had just come off a great experience with 30 Days of Thanks on Facebook, and I wanted to keep the spirit of thankfulness rolling through the rest of the year.  I also wanted some action to come out of all of this thankfulness.  It is one thing to say you are thankful and another to truly BE thankful.  So my thankfulness challenge was born.  Wouldn’t you know it, I have done TERRIBLY with this. Living Thankfulness Link-Up

Borrowed from philanthropyfashion.com

Today is the last day of the 30 Days of Thanks.  I’ve never participated in this and I don’t know anything about its origin, but my experience of it was to post something I was thankful for every day in November.  I got involved because I just happened to see a post by a friend on November 1st and I thought that it sounded like a fun challenge.  I had no idea what a journey it would be. A Day in the Life of Mathair Fiona

Winding Road
So I ran across Kerry’s “A Day in the Life” link up over at Winding Road and thought it sounded like fun.  It is also such a great premise.  This blogging world brings us all together and we begin to form real relationships, but we really don’t know what the day-to-days are like for each of us.  Although most of us are writing from a parenting perspective, just how we live the parenting life is SO different from one another.  I don’t have the time right now to post for each day of the week, so I am going to do an abridged version that gives a general overview of what a day looks like in our household.  I just survived a morning of doctor’s appointments in preparation for the big hand surgery day, so I’m feeling like sharing with everyone what its like around here!
